Rules of Conduct

School conduct expectations to maintain a safe, respectful and learning-focused environment.

Rules of Conduct — Key Points

The items below are taken from the official Rules of Conduct document (source PDF is linked in the sidebar).

  • Medium of instruction: As instruction is in English, students should speak English with teachers, classmates and companions for academic benefit.
  • Punctuality: Students should arrive in clean, proper uniform at least ten minutes before assembly. Late comers may be debarred from entering classes.
  • Assembly behaviour: At the first bell students must move immediately to class queues for assembly; complete silence is expected while changing classes.
  • Movement in school: Move in single line and keep to the left in corridors and while using stairs.
  • Attendance standards: Irregular attendance, unexplained absence for more than a week, habitual idleness, disobedience or exam malpractice may justify dismissal. Students are responsible to school authorities for conduct in and outside school.
  • Leaving campus: No student is allowed to leave school without permission. All leaves granted at parents' request are recorded and must be signed by parents.
  • Minimum attendance for exams: Students must have at least 75% attendance of total working days to appear for examinations.
  • Vehicles: Students should not use motorbikes/vehicles to come to school; the school is not responsible for accidents. Driving without license is discouraged.
  • Personal cleanliness & uniform: Uniform must be clean and neat, shoes polished, hair combed, nails clipped. Students may be sent home for untidiness.
  • Collections & gifts: No collection of funds or gifts to teachers/students without Principal's express permission.
  • Teacher absence: If a teacher is absent beyond five minutes the second monitor reports to office; the first monitor ensures order until teacher arrives.
  • Damage to property: Any damage, defacement or vandalism must be made good by the offending student; fines or dismissal may be applied.
  • Confidential reports: The Principal may act on confidential reports from staff. Parents may be asked to withdraw a child based on such reports.
  • Grounds for dismissal: Grounds include consistently unsatisfactory progress, lack of interest, complaints against staff, non-payment of fees, or causing serious offence to others.
  • Authority: Disciplinary actions by the Principal are final and binding; interference to prevent such action will not be entertained.

Practical Procedures & Notes

How parents and students should follow up:

  • Carry medical certificates, diaries and identity cards for absences or special leave.
  • Respect school property; intentional damage requires repair/compensation.
  • Follow staff instructions during functions and excursions to avoid penalties.
  • Clear dues on time; pending fees may lead to suspension or dismissal.
