Today, 25th November 2025, the students and staff of Goyenka Public School gathered to solemnly observe the Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the ninth Guru of Sikhism, remembered for his unparalleled sacrifice in defending religious freedom and human rights.
The program began with a morning assembly that included the recitation of Shabad Kirtan and a prayer for peace and unity. A special speech by students highlighted the life, teachings, and supreme martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, who gave his life in 1675 to protect the rights of others, setting a timeless example of courage and compassion.
Teachers encouraged students to follow the values taught by Guru Sahib—
truth, justice, humility, sacrifice, and respect for every religion. A short documentary was shown that inspired students to stand up for righteousness and humanity.
The Principal, Mrs. Pooja Malhotra, addressed the gathering, saying:
“Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s sacrifice reminds us that true bravery lies in protecting others even at personal cost. Let us walk on the path of peace, tolerance, and harmony.”
Students also participated in a poster-making and essay competition themed “Courage and Sacrifice.” The event concluded with Ardas and distribution of Prasad.
The entire school community paid heartfelt tribute to the Hind-Di-Chadar—Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, expressing gratitude for his everlasting legacy.
