Rules & Discipline

School rules that help maintain a safe, respectful and learning-focused environment.

Rules of Discipline — Summary

The following rules are taken from the school's official "Rules of Discipline" document. (Source: official PDF).

  • Attendance: Every student must attend school on the reopening day. Students who are ill must produce an authentic medical certificate.
  • Unauthorised absence: Absence without approved leave for more than three days immediately after a vacation may render the student liable for dismissal.
  • Absence on functions/holidays: Absence on days of school functions — whether working days, holidays or national holidays — will attract serious disciplinary action or a fine.
  • Uniform & diary: Students coming to school without the school uniform or school diary may be fined or sent home and marked absent.
  • Damage & vandalism: Any damage, dis-figuration or graffiti caused by a student must be made good by the offending student. Besides fines, dismissal may be considered.
  • Confidential reports: The Principal may act on confidential reports from teachers or staff. Parents may be asked to withdraw their child based on such reports.
  • Grounds for dismissal: The school reserves the right to dismiss students for consistently unsatisfactory progress, lack of interest in studies, criminal complaints by parents against staff, non-payment of fees, or causing serious offences to others.
  • Authority & finality: Disciplinary actions taken by the Principal are effective and binding. Interference to prevent such disciplinary action will not be entertained.

Procedures & Practical Notes

Practical expectations and how parents/students should respond:

  • Always carry necessary documents (medical certificates, diaries, identity card) when absent or on special leave.
  • Respect school property — repairs/compensation will be required for damage caused intentionally or through negligence.
  • Follow instructions given by staff during school functions and on excursions to avoid penalties.
  • Clear dues on time; pending fees can lead to action including suspension or dismissal.
